“There are moments in our career, life, and relationships when we are not feeling good about who, what, and where we are.”
Dr. Ivan Joseph

Adversity is an inevitable part of life. When challenges present themselves all at once, we can start to doubt our abilities, values, and purpose.

A skill we can use to control this storm of uncertainty is our self-confidence. Knowing that we can endure change and find a solution to something difficult brings pride and satisfaction. The unfortunate reality is that every new situation is unpredictable and they rarely go according to plan.

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

— Benjamin Franklin

A major problem is that we neglect the improvement of our self-confidence when we settle into a routine. We get comfortable and stop seeking situations that challenge our confidence. When our lives undergo a big change, our self-confidence is not in a position to face the associated adversity. We start to become anxious about our situation because we had a false sense of security in our comfort zone.
